Summer Reading Book List Links
Looking for some quality texts for your little one to read (or for you to read to them)? Looking for something to spark excitement with your K-5th grader? If so, check out the list below. It includes links to recommended summer reading. While Buckner Elementary does not have a single book recommendation list, we absolutely do encourage our students to continue to grow as readers throughout the summer months.
Please click the links below, print them off, or jot down a few titles to support your child’s literacy growth over the months of summer. While it may feel short to us, it’s a LONG time for a child to go without reading and practicing thinking with engaging texts. Reading is not something that we should brush off because it’s summer. This is our opportunity to embrace listening to our child read, talking to him/her about great books, and possibly reading a common text with him/her. Summer is our opportunity, as parents, to fostering the concept of reading for pleasure. This is it! Make the most of Summer 2011.

The books on these books for boys reading lists include children's books and young adult books that will appeal to a wide range of ages and interests. Even boys who complain they can never find anything good to read and, as a result, are reluctant readers, should be able to find books they enjoy on some of these lists. While none of them are specifically summer reading lists, they all could be used as such.
